Three More Pro Wins for SBG Idaho/Combat Fitness!

SBG Idaho Goes 3-1 at Front Street Fights 5

SBG Idaho/Combat Fitness continue to build a name for themselves as an elite MMA team in the Northwest as they returned to the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, ID for FSF – Front Street Fights 5. SBG Idaho were represented in four fights on the card, including three professional bouts, and both of the co-main events. Jesse Brock, Scott Thometz and Matt Jones each picked up a victory in the three pro fights, while Russell Koharchick lost narrowly, by split decision, in his second amateur contest.

SBG Idaho’s Matt Jones def Chris Bateman

Featherweight Matt Jones took on Chris Bateman in his third professional fight, and picked up a comfortable first round victory courtesy of a rear naked choke. The win moves his professional record into the positive, now 2-1, adding to his success against Calvin Kearns at Front Street Fights 3 in November – a match he also won via rear naked choke in the first round!

SBG Idaho’s Scott Thometz def Darrell Flores

SBG Idaho BJJ coach, Scott Thometz was victorious in the co-main event of the evening, securing an exciting win over fellow lightweight Darrell Flores, which was enough for him to earn the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. Thometz won by unanimous decision over three rounds by utilizing a superior ground game. The win takes his record to 7-4, breaking a run of three losses that span back to 2012 in emphatic style!

SBG Idaho’s Jesse Brock def Bendy Casimir

SBG Idaho/Combat Fitness coach, Jesse Brock, picked up the twentieth win of his professional career with a unanimous decision win over Bendy Casimir in the night’s main event. It is his fourth successive win, and his third straight headlining the cards of the Front Street Fights promotion. The win, and his impressive record to date, are enough to see Brock headlining Idaho’s first nationally televised MMA event on July 3rd, taking on Joe Murphy as part of the Resurrection Fighting Alliance card. It is a massive achievement for Brock and SBG Idaho/Combat Fitness to be recognized as one of the major players in Idaho MMA!
