“HEEL HOOKS AND TOE HOLDS ARE DANGEROUS”
Everyone has heard this. Some people ignore it, jump in, and get hurt. Others wait until brown or black belt to train them.
What if you could do it safely?
What if you and your training partners understood exactly where those lines were, and could work them daily with no more danger than a basic triangle?
What if you just want to NOT GET CAUGHT!
John Frankl’s Fundamental Foot Lock Defense Series Is For YOU.
A deep “fundamentals” based (not what’s most basic, but what’s most IMPORTANT) look into these locks by one of the greatest Jiu Jitsu coaching minds in the world.
BE SAFE
Learn the core mechanics of how these locks work. Professor Frankl will walk you through the where and how the lock is being applied, giving you a clear understanding of what needs to be in place for the locks to force you to tap. In most cases knowing these details is more than half the fight.
Professor Frankl breaks these details down so you can avoid over complicating the technique; avoid being in the branches of their leg lock tree, evade their possibilities, and shut them down at the roots and base.
Why over complicate your training when you are limited on time? Avoid having to memorize 20-30 different variations by getting to the root of why they work. John Frankl lays it out in detail for you, breaking it down so that the entire game is essentially only a few variations.
Knowing how these locks work is also what will allow you to safely train these with your partner. You will be able to see, feel, and know once things start to get into a dangerous place. This allows you to address them early, or to tap in time so you can train the next day.
Anyone who knows coach Frankl knows his training methods and his goals for being early. Why escape something when you can just stop it from ever happening in the first place?
TIME is what we are all limited by. Are you the average Joe training two or three hours a week?
Are you an amateur or professional athlete putting hours a day in at the gym?
Are you someone trying to be functional for self-defense?
We are all limited by our time and thus limited in what we can specialize in.
By following along with professor Frankl’s approach, you can stay functional for fighting, functional for sport, and functional in the gym—even with a limited amount of time.
Just-
BE EARLY
Build yourself a structure that works in all scenarios: fight, sport, or street!
Shut their options down early by passing with a structure that denies a majority of their options.
Position yourself in guard bottom in such a way that shuts down their grips.
Use your weight to shut them down or make them so SLOW that you have the time you need to recognize and respond to threats.
GOT CAUGHT? GET OUT!
We should always strive to BE EARLY, but sometimes you get caught. Knowing what to do if you are LATE is essential.
