SBGi News, for intelligent primates

SBG’s Conor McGregor makes one amazing debut in the UFC!

Future UFC champion Conor McGregor, made an impressive debut in the UFC this last saturday, winning by KO, in 67 seconds of the first round.

Those of us who’ve known about Conor were not surprised. Huge congratulations to McGregor and SBG head coach John Kavanagh, who makes it his job to produce world class competitors.

Conor’s footwork, angles, distance and timing, were brilliant. But what really sets him apart is his winning attitude.

Keep an eye on Conor, he is headed straight for the UFC belt!

The most impressive training camp SBG has ever held is only ONE week away, and. . .

We have some good news. The camp was fully booked over three weeks ago. And we had closed it to registration. However, two people have had to cancel. As unfortunate as that is for them, it does mean that there are exactly two slots now open, to get in on this unbelievable event.

This will be offered solely on a first come first serve basis, the first two people to register at:

http://www.straightblastgym.com/camps.htm

Will get in.

After that we will close the registration.

Haueter, Kavanagh, Tanswell, Travis Davison, Rick Davison, Frankl, Pagle, Whittier, Adam Singer, Rory Singer, Prevost, Diggins, Thornton . . .PLUS MORE!

New Stand up programs being launched. Coaching University debut, Growing Gorillas debut, and the best instruction and training you can possibly imagine.

See you there!

Do you want to sponser some future BJJ World Champions?

Some of SBG’s rising BJJ stars are looking for sponsers. Pictured Left is SBG Headquarters own Amanda Loewen, in route to her Pan Am silver medal last month.

Here is an note fromAmanda:

“So the World Jiu Jitsu Championships (Mundials) is less than two months away. I figured this would be a good time to ask anyone/company if they would be willing to sponsor me. If your interested in my history here’s a little information:

1. I’m currently undefeated in the North West, with the exception of placing 3rd as a blue belt in the Men’s division, and 2nd place as a purple belt in the Men’s division.

2. I’ve won a Super fight as a Blue belt against a Purple Belt. (2011)

3. I’ve won another Super fight as a purple belt against a brown belt.(2013)

4. I’m 2-0 in MMA, however my current focus is Jiu Jitsu.

5. I took home 3 Gold Medals at Grapplers Quest in July 2011: Won Advanced No Gi, Won Advanced Gi Blue Belt Light Weight, and Advanced Absolute Blue Belt.

6. This last month i competed at the Pan American Jiu Jitsu Championships and Placed 2nd in Purple Belt Adult Female Light Weight Division. I have no excuse for why I lost my finals match other than I’m going to crush at Mundials.

I am a full time Coach and Competitor, I love Jiu Jitsu and plan on doing this as long as I’m able to. I won’t promise you anything that i cannot fulfill. So as much as I’d like to tell you that “I’ll bring home the gold”, I can say that I will always represent my team, my coaches, my students, and put one million percent into what I do.

If your interested in supporting me, i will wear your patches, consume your products, get more shredded than the next person and be awesome..”

We are also looking for sponsers for SBG Headquarters 2012 Mundials GOLD medal World Champion, Leah Taylor.

Contact SBG Headquarters at sbginfo@yahoo.com or call 503-230-7924 to talk about sponsorship. You’ll be glad you did.

Another notch in the NW conquest.

Four competitors from SBG Portland entered, and brought home THREE GOLD, and ONE SILVER. Not bad.

SBG Montana brought 17 competitors, EVERY single person medaled, and they took THIRTEEN GOLD medals home.

SBG, that’s how we do it.

There is talk of Mexico. . .

It looks like SBG’s next retreat will be mid October, in the beautiful Puerto Vallarta Mexico.

The retreat will feature a two day coaching program for SBG Staff, as well as other training & business session, and it will take place over four days.

This will be an amazing event!

Members of camp next week will get the first look at what he have planned, as well as a chance to pre-register. We will then open up registration to everyone else June 1st.

Registration will be limited, and it will fill up fast. So get ready, and plan ahead.

SBG, going further

Is that a seminar going on at SBG headquarters in Portland Oregon?

Nope, that is a typical week night at SBG’s first Academy.

Unfortunately we don’t have a camera with a wide enough lens to capture all the class, but that line keeps going.

And we will keep growing.

Here some kids from SBG East Coast go over some home work assignments.

Children in SBG’s program work not only functional Martial Arts, but Life Skills and Academics as well. We don’t want to produce champions in Martial Arts only.

We want to produce champions in life!

See you at camp!
